Colorado Autism Mentoring Program
Cohort 4
Creating capacity within districts to coach/mentor individuals working with students with autism.
Goals of CAMP
- Create capacity using multiple regional participants within AUs/districts to mentor individuals working with students with ASD
- Utilize coaching models to develop effective coaching practices within districts to support staff
- Learn how to utilize effective evaluation tools and strategies for programs and students
- Provide professional development based on identified needs of CAMP participants and ASD evidence-based practices (EBP)
- Increase personal knowledge and comfort with implementation and dissemination of material
Who should be considered?
- District professionals seeking to increase knowledge of evidence-based practices (EBP) for students with autism
- District professionals open to receiving feedback on application of new learning
- District professionals who have demonstrated willingness to collaborate with other team members
How will CAMP benefit participants?
- Ongoing mentorship from the CDE Autism Team
- Training on EBP for students with local and national partners
- Learn coaching strategies to assist with building capacity at the local/regional level
What is the planned commitment for the next cohort?
- Four in-person days of training in the Denver area during 2024-2025 school year:
- Two days of CAMP Training fall 2024 (October 2024)
- Two days of CAMP training spring 2025 (May 2025)
- Four in-person days of training in the Denver area the 2025-2026 school year:
- Two days of CAMP Training fall 2025 (TBD)
- Two days of CAMP training spring 2026 (TBD)
- Once-a-month activities to include virtual meetings, articles to read and webinars
- State-level training in Educational Identification of Autism and Communication
- Opportunities to coach others in building/AU/district on strategies learned (e.g., professional development days)
- There is no cost for this program
- Participants will receive CDE credit hours for completion of the program
