Annual Inspection Guide - School Transportation Technician 

The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) School Transportation Unit has promulgated this resource guide to assist public school districts as well as Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) with developing policies and procedures for the safe transportation of students. These guidelines provide manufacturer recommendations, industry standards and best practices which are consistent with the Colorado Minimum Standards Governing School Transportation Vehicles, 1 CCR 301-25 and the Colorado Rules for the Operation, Maintenance and Inspection of School Transportation Vehicles 1 CCR 301-26. This publication is intended to serve as a transportation provider resource toward compliance with legislation and regulations. Link to Guide.

The map will simplify the process of locating a district, person, or site needed for certification, annual inspection or other assistance that they may need pertaining to annual inspections. Annual Inspector Qualification and Re-Certification Tests

These updated tests are based on the COLORADO RULES FOR THE OPERATION, MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION OF SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION VEHICLES, 1 CCR 301-26 effective January 1, 2017 and COLORADO MINIMUM STANDARDS GOVERNING SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION VEHICLES, 1 CCR 301-25 effective April 30,2015.  The new testing materials we be distributed to all districts. Please discard all obsolete testing materials.  If you are in need of the tests prior to receiving them from CDE, please contact Brian Vasina at

Cost: $150 per person. These are two 8-hour classes (same class offered twice). Class size is limited to15 people maximum per class, and are open to all school employees to include facilities maintenance folks.


Welding class taught by Glenn Ashley, Adams 12 Five Star Schools Bollman Tech certified welding instructor. This course is for the beginner, intermediate and advanced welder covering welding safety, MIG, TIG, ARC, and gas welding with additional hands-on practice time. The course will also cover metal working to include Gas and plasma cutting techniques. Welding helmets and leathers will be available to borrow or the welder can bring their own. Registration fee includes instructor fee, welding consumables and lunch for one day.
