Title IA Webinar Series

In March of 2022, the Colorado Department of Education hosted a three-webinar series on Title IA Set-asides to support homeless children and youth.  The series covered the required cross- program coordination between the McKinney-Vento Act and Title I, Part A to support the identification and address the needs of students experiencing homelessness. The webinar series was designed to support McKinney-Vento District Liaisons and Title I district partners in planning and coordinating services for students in their districts.  Please see the recordings, slides and shared resources to support coordination at your district.

Back-to-School: Identification and Enrollment of McKinney-Vento Eligible Students

As a new school year begins, schools and districts have the opportunity to connect with parents, families and students in ways that we haven’t had the opportunity to do in the past couple of years.  Connecting with students and families who are experiencing homelessness is more vital now than ever.  With a 30% drop in identified McKinney-Vento eligible students from the 2019-2020 school-year to the 2020-21 school year across Colorado, the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) is committed to supporting McKinney-Vento Liaisons in training, technical assistance and strategies for leveraging partnerships to identify and enroll students experiencing homelessness.

Please review the following resources to learn more about identification and enrollment of students experiencing homelessness during this back-to-school season
