St. Vrain Valley School District

Program Description

The St. Vrain Valley School District, in partnership with UC Denver, will offer a series of eWorkshops designed to address the Standards of Effective Pedagogy for culturally and linguistically diverse students. This three course sequence will be offered yearly starting in 2019. Each course, based on the CREDE Standards (Center for Research on Education, Diversity, and Excellence - UC-Berkeley) and led by St. Vrain facilitators meets Colorado's English Language Learner Professional Development Standards. In addition, between 2011 and 2016, St. Vrain provided five hours of SIOP training per year to all St. Vrain educators that also meet Colorado's English Language Learner Professional Development Standards. Any combination of district SIOP training and ICMEE eWorkshops equally 45 hours or more will enable teachers to meet the relicensure requirement. Upon completion of the 45 hours, a certificate of completion may be requested by the educator for submission to CDE. Certificates of completion may be requested St. Vrain Office of Professional Development website.
