Learning Cohorts: Community Schools

Breaking the Silos: Harnessing the Transformative Power of Community Schools to Connect and Empower

Do you ever find yourself overwhelmed by managing uncoordinated and competing school improvement initiatives in your school and district? How do you manage the responsibility of cultivating school environments that promote academic success while effectively responding to the increasingly complex and urgent needs of students and families? What are the possibilities when school and district leaders embrace a collective impact strategy for school improvement with collaborative leadership and transformational partnerships at the center?

This cohort is designed for school and district leaders invested in learning about the community schools strategy or taking their community schools implementation to the next level. We will explore the essential elements of the community schools strategy to build knowledge and provide opportunities to learn from school and district leaders currently implementing this strategy and planning and implementation resources.

If you are interested in knowing more about the transformative power of this collective impact strategy for school improvement and want to connect to a network of others across the state with the same passion, this cohort is for you. We are providing six sessions to explore the latest research and resources, connect with district and school leaders currently implementing this strategy, create space to share your specific context and goals, receive feedback, and provide time to plan for the implementation of your next steps.

Learning Cohort Facilitators:

  • Victory Molina, District Improvement Strategy Office
