Grant Information

Adult Basic Education Authorization

The Adult Basic Education Authorization is the only state issued credential for educators who work with adult learners on improving literacy skills, English language proficiency and/or preparing them to pass the high school equivalency test.

Career Pathways

A career pathway is a series of connected education and training programs, work experiences, and student support services that enable individuals to secure a job or advance in a demand industry or occupation. As an instructor operating in a career pathway program, you may be asked to contextualize the content in your class to a career cluster, sector, or life-based scenario. Understanding your role in a career pathway system helps to make a smoother transition for learners.

Professional Development

The AEI office provides many support and training opportunities throughout the year to support staff development and continuous improvement of local instructional practices.  Current information on these activities can be found on the Professional Learning page.

Learning Needs

Students in your classroom may need additional academic support or accommodations. This page provides support to instructors around learning needs.

College and Career Readiness Standards

The College and Career Readiness Standards provide a framework to support instruction for adult students. Standards are not a curriculum and do not dictate content. Standards are intended to set a framework for strengthening curriculum and defining what all students should be expected to know and do.
