Adult Education Initiatives

About Us

CDE's Adult Education Initiatives Office (AEI) administers the federally-funded and state-funded adult education grant programs in Colorado. These programs are authorized by the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA) under Title II of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and the Adult Education and Literacy Act of 2014 (AELA).

  • 2017-2018 Federal Grant Update
    • Preliminary List of 2017-2018 AEFLA Grantees (PDF)
      • This list is preliminary and subject to change due to following:
        •      Many of the approved applicants are in the process of addressing required changes. 
        •      The Colorado Department of Education has not received the 2017-2018 AEFLA funding appropriation from the U.S. Department of Education. CDE anticipates receiving the final appropriation after July 1, 2017.
  • 2017-2018 State Grant Update
    • The finalized list of 2017-2018 AELG Grantees is: Aims Community College, Asian Pacific Development Center, Colorado Mountain College, Colorado Springs School District 11, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Durango Adult Education Center, Mile High Youth Corps, and Pine River Community Learning Center.
