Students received scholarship funding from CO-ALAS.

Every year for the last decade, 10 students from across Colorado have reeived college scholarships from the Colorado Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents – a professional education association dedicated to the continued development and placement of Latino/Latina administrators committed to quality public education for all students. This year was no exception as 10 Colorado students received a total of $7,500 in college scholarship aid.

In the past, a letter of congratulations and a check came in the mail for recipients. This year, CO-ALAS hosted a scholarship dinner for the first time for the students and their families to celebrate their success and show support for their future educational endeavors.

To be chosen, students must write an essay on the impact education has had on their lives and describe their future hopes and dreams. They must also provide letters of recommendation, a listing of extracurricular and co-curricular activities, and an academic transcript.
