Office of Online and Blended Learning
The Office of Online & Blended Learning (OBL) serves and supports Online Schools, Programs, Students, Parents, Authorizers, other related entities, and individuals related to K-12 Online & Blended Learning in Colorado. We are committed to providing information to all interested parties and stakeholders, as well as supporting the responsible growth of Online Learning. The Office of Online & Blended Learning began duties October 1, 2007 under Senate Bill 215 legislation. Our purposes are:
- To support Online Schools, Programs, Students, Parents, Authorizers, and other entities related to Online Learning;
- To facilitate the certification of Multi-District Online Schools;
- To support with quality implementation of online programs and online schools.

Formal Variance Waiver Process 12/2 Deadline
The 2022-2023 Formal Variance Waiver Process is underway with the upcoming deadline of Friday, December 2, 2022 for participating districts and schools to submit the required documentation. Districts and schools should contact BLI@cde.state.co.us with any questions about the facilitation of this process. 2022-2023 Online Leadership Learning Cohort
The Office of Online & Blended Learning is facilitating the Online Leadership Learning Cohort again for this 2022-2023 school year. The cohort is an opportunity for online leaders new to operating in an online setting to network with other Colorado online leaders, share best practices in online schools, and focus on leadership development. Please contact OnlineLearning@cde.state.co.us if interested in participating in the monthly virtual cohort meetings.
