Commissioner Susana Córdova talks to Garfield Re-2 Superintendent Heather Grumley and Assistant Superintendent Lisa Pierce about how the district made such strides in improving attendance and reducing chronic absenteeism. In 2023-24, Garfield Re-2 increased its attendance rate by 2.1% to 94.2% and reduced its absenteeism rate to 13.9% – much better than 29.8% the year before. Its 50.1% improvement was among the largest reductions in Colorado.
