Important Update Regarding Troops to Teachers: June 2021
Due to federal funding restrictions, the National Troops to Teachers program will be eliminated effective September 30, 2021 (click here for additional information from the US Department of Defense regarding changes to the Troops to Teachers Program, including Frequently Asked Questions). The Troops to Teachers Colorado program sunset in May 2021; however, the Colorado Department of Education continues to support military veterans, their families and non-military affiliated candidates with recruiting, preparation, licensing and placement assistance. Please contact Korey Brown or John Scheuer for assistance. Over the coming months, we'll work closely with participants, hiring authorities and other organizations affected by the program sunset to communicate and coordinate final program details.
Troops to Teachers Program registrations or bonus applications are not being accepted at this time. The Troops to Teachers Program and State offices will continue to assist current participants with teacher licensing and hiring assistance. Current program participants can continue to access and update their records via the Jobs2Teach link on www.proudtoserveagain.com.
Service members and veterans interested in becoming a program participant should complete the “Program Interest” form located on www.proudtoserveagain.com. This form provides basic contact information so you can be notified directly if program funding becomes available.
