News Release - State’s largest teacher recruitment fair is Saturday at Dakota Ridge High School
The Colorado Educator Recruitment Fair will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at Dakota Ridge High School, 13399 W. Coal Mine Ave. in Littleton. The event is the state’s largest teacher employment fair with representatives from 87 hiring school districts.

News Release - Community organizations invited to host summer meal program sites
Colorado's Summer Meals Program seeks sponsors, sites, and state partners to continue to ensure children and teens have access to healthy meals during the summer break. In 2024, sponsors at 626 sites served more than 1.9 million meals through this USDA-funded program administered by the Colorado Department of Education's School Nutrition Unit. For the summer of 2025, eligible families can also receive support through the Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer Program.

News Release - 2025 Colorado Teacher of the Year Janet Damon named as finalist for National Teacher of the Year award
The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) today announced its finalists for the 2025 National Teacher of the Year award. One of those four finalists is Colorado’s 2025 Teacher of the Year Janet Damon. Damon is a history teacher at DELTA High School in Denver Public Schools and has been an educator for over 25 years.

News Release -- Colorado students continue to outperform the nation on most NAEP assessments, but performance has not passed pre-pandemic levels
According to 2024 NAEP assessment results released today, Colorado eighth graders outperformed their national peers in both reading and math, while fourth graders surpassed the national public average in reading and matched the national public average in math.

News Release - Colorado's four-year graduation and dropout rates show steady improvements; continued gaps across student groups
The Colorado Department of Education today released student graduation and dropout data from the 2023-24 school year. Results show Colorado students continuing to make progress with the four-year graduation rate improving by 1.1% points to 84.2% – the state’s highest in more than a decade. Student drop-out rates are also declining; rates decreased by 0.2% points to 1.9% for 2023-24. Even with improvements in both rates, however, significant disproportionalities persist across student groups.
