• Bibliomania - This online resource hosts online literature for 5th grade and up. 
• Commonlit - Free collection of reading passages in all literary and nonfiction genres for grades 3-12.
• Learn English Kids - Listen and Watch - Short animated stories with vocabulary, sequencing and comprehension questions from England. Materials are printable.
• Newsela - Offers students up-to-date, high-interest articles that meet students right at their level. This resource is free for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. 
• Reading Comprehension from RHL - Free reading comprehension worksheets for teachers and parents to copy.
• Scholastic Learn at Home - This is a collection of cross-curricular articles, stories and videos that incorporate discussion points, lesson plans and activities.(Grades K-8) 
• Sit Together and Read (STAR) - STAR is a set of interactive and innovative read-aloud practices designed for educators and caregivers. STAR is a resource from From The University of Ohio College of Education & Human Ecology.
• Stories from the Web - Children's Writing Gallery - Short stories and poems written by children. 
• Storyline Online - Online program where books are read aloud by famous people. Each book is accompanied by a supplemental teacher guide. (Grades K-4) 
• Storynory - This site contains more than 600 audio stories, myths and poems to listen to or download. (Grades K-5) 
• Tar Heel Reader - Collection of free, easy-to-read, and accessible books on a wide range of topics.

Vocabulary Development

• Anagram Solver - an online vocabulary and spelling development resource.
• Eye on Idioms  - from ReadWriteThink.org Eye on Idioms includes a series of exercises, in which students view the literal representations of idioms and then examine their metaphorical meanings.
• Picture Dictionary - This dictionary contains more than 2500 illustrations with translations in more than 50 languages. 
• Vocabulary.com Learn Words - is a vocabulary builder website for older students. 
• World of Words - a website for vocabulary building games and activities.

Writing

• Describe a Movie - This online form can be completed for discussion about any movie. This form can be printed and used for discussion or turned in for comprehension.
• Mad Libs for Kids - With over 100 story templates, kids can create stories using the Mad Lib format.
• Story Jumper - Provides a free online tool to write, illustrate and publish children's stories.

• IXL - IXL is a website for educators and families to help learners build math, language arts and social studies skills.
• Letters - Words - A language resource that features a word search engine designed for a versatile scope of usages to support development of English language.
• Sequencing Fun - This website was created by a Speech Language Pathologist and contains Sequencing games.
• Speech-Language (and more!) online games! This website was created by a Speech Language Pathologist and has interactive games to work on different speech or language goals for students to play. Younger students will need an adult to explain the game and/or listen for correct response.
