Guidance for Reopening Schools in 2020-2021

CDE has worked alongside school district leaders and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to develop initial and draft guidance for reopening schools in the fall. This guidance has been posted to the CDE website as "Planning the 2020-21 School Year: Framework and Toolkit for School and District Leaders." The toolkit will be updated to reflect any new public health orders, the status of our COVID-19 cases in communities across Colorado, and any progress the medical community makes on treatment. The toolkit will also be adjusted based on feedback from district and school leaders, teachers, students, other education staff, education organizations, the State Board of Education, and advocates. In addition, an advisory committee with multiple stakeholders has been formed to provide extensive feedback on planning for the 2020-21 school year. CDE is also requesting public feedback on the toolkit through this feedback form.
