Comprehensive Early Literacy Grant – Cohort 5 Timeline (2023-2024)

Ongoing

Update contact information throughout the year: ELG Contact Information Change form.

Submit an ELG Exit Information form for school(s) leaving an ELG.

Submit a Leadership Transition Plan and schedule a meeting to discuss changes to school leadership.

Submit the Budget Submission/Revision Form.

Important Dates and Deadlines

June 30, 2023

Collect and submit Early Literacy Grant Virtual Conference certificates of completion for each member of the SLT. (This item is waived for 2022-2023 reporting).

July 1, 2023

23/24 fiscal year begins.

August 31, 2023

Complete contact updates. (Contact information confirmation/change request emailed to ELG program contacts.)

September 29, 2023

Submit annual financial report (AFR) via Grant Expenditure Report Submission form. This provides an account of funds expended between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023. 

January 31, 2024

Implementation Consultants submit the Middle-of-Year (MOY) ELG Goal Progress Report (updated and renamed). The data collection and analysis required for the MOY report should be a collaborative process between grantees and implementation consultants. 

February 15, 2024  (Optional for 2024)

Submit interim financial report (IFR) via Grant Expenditure Report Submission form, reflecting 23/24 expenditures to date.

April 24, 2024

Early Literacy Grant  Virtual Conference (one day only). 

March 20th, 2024 by 5:00 PM

Cohort 5 Sustainability Request for Applications (RFA) due. 

March 29th, 2024: Budget Submission/Revision Deadline

Submit any remaining budget change requests, budget revisions, or budget carryover via the ELG Budget Submission/Revision form.

May 31, 2024

Meet with ELG Implementation Consultant, evaluate data and determine if funding goals were met. 

June 10, 2024

Submit Comprehensive ELG School Self-Evaluation

Submit 23/24 ELG Implementation Consultant Feedback Survey

Early Literacy Grant – Professional Development Timeline

General Reminder

All Professional Development (3246) funds not spent prior to June 30th, 2023, will need to be returned to CDE promptly following your Annual Financial Report submission and reviewed by Anna Friedman, your fiscal analyst.

Annual Financial Reports (AFR) are due on or before September 29th, 2023 via the Grant Report Submission form. Your AFR requires that you fill out Tab 4- AFR Detail in your Budget Workbook. You also must submit a Detailed General Ledger of expenses dated July 1, 2022-June 30th, 2023. If you received Professional Development in FY21-22 and have not returned unspent funds, you will need to include a General Ledger of expenses dated July 1, 2021 - June 30th, 2022 with your AFR submission as well. 

After your AFR has been reviewed and approved, you will receive an email from Anna Friedman confirming the approval and the amount of funds, if any, that need to be returned along with instructions on how to return those funds.
